Salsa Shines Homework: Rhythm Shine 001
This is the first in a series of what I call Rhythm Shines. The shines are performed to a specific rhythm, but can be done to any track. A percussion player, like a bongo player, learns to play free rhythms across basic rhythms. As a dancer you can do the same thing.
I’ve created a track with the rhythm to help you as you do the shine. After a while you should try to play or chant the rhythm while listening to another track. Once you can do that, you can use the shine on any track.
These rhythm shines clips will not only teach you new shines, but they will also teach you how to think like a percussion player and use that in your dancing.
